 Britmead B&B is only a short walk from West Bay which is situated on the Dorset coast, a part of the World Heritage site “Jurassic Coast” great for fossil hunting it also has lovely beaches and there are facilities for water sports and fishing nearby. You will also find a large choice of pubs and restaurants in West Bay, Bridport and the surrounding area.
Dorset Countryside
 Inland from Britmead B&B you will find the rolling hills of the Dorset countryside with the spectacular hill forts of Maiden Castle and Eggardon. Great for hiking, biking and sightseeing. We have a large private car park, so why not forget about the car and take the Jurassic Coast bus which runs every two hours from Poole to Exmouth and back stopping at Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Weymouth and other seaside resorts on the way.
Bridport - Historic Market Town
Bridport is renowned for
its thriving street markets and monthly Farmers' market. On
Saturdays, the streets are lined with dozens of stalls selling
bric-a- brac and antiques, alongside local produce stalls.
It's a bargain hunters paradise! Bridport also has many shops, restaurants and pubs, there is an Arts Centre with a large and varied schedule. There are also other amenities such as the leisure centre with its swimming pool and gym.
Dorchester and Lyme Regis
 A short drive away from our guest house is the
historic town of Dorchester, famous for its Roman Heritage
and its links to Thomas Hardy. So too
is Lyme Regis, Charmouth and the counties of Devon and Somerset. Britmead
B&B is an ideal base for exploring the Dorset Countryside.

Accommodation for the 2012 Olympics
 In 2012 the Olympic sailing competitions will be hosted at Weymouth and Portland which is only 18 miles away from Britmead B&B. Portland offers great sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing and has many picturesque walks through ancient quarries and along its dramatic coastline.
